2009-2010 Alumni Association Board
The Alumni Association Board is a volunteer group of alumni dedicated to keeping alumni connected with one another and the College.
Designed to help organize events, services, and programs for every Pitzer alumnus/a.
Appointed for two-year terms and work to enhance areas like Alumni Weekend, Educational Programs, Student/Alumni Relations, and the Alumni Fund.
With up to 25 members and through various efforts, Alumni Board members:
Are educated about current Pitzer issues and events
Create avenues for alumni to contribute to the life of the College and be a resource to campus constituents
Dedicate their time and talents to enhance and promote the visibility of the College
Act as liaisons between the College and the Alumni population.
Meet the Alumni Board President
Claudio R. Chavez graduated from Pitzer College in 1988 with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics. After his tenure at Pitzer College, Claudio went on to receive his JD from Boalt Hall School of Law at the University of California, Berkeley in 1993.
Claudio joined the Alumni Association Board in 2005 and has been active in the fundraising efforts for The Lynne Spear Book Fund and the Chicano/Latino Alumni Leadership Committee. In 2007, Claudio was appointed Board President in which he is currently serving his second term.
Claudio’s presence on the board as a leader is exceptional and met by his dedication to the perseverance of Pitzer’s imprint in higher education through the Alumni Association. Claudio is currently Associate General Counsel for Arch Bay Capital in Southern California.

Alumni Board members are appointed on behalf of the entire Alumni population and are your representatives. The Alumni Board meets four times per year including a fall retreat on campus. Review Alumni Board by-laws.
