8,572 active engaged, dedicated alumni

Dear Pitzer Alumni, Staff, and Faculty,

Reunion 2009 was a great success this year. With record attendance, alumni from around the world gathered together for a weekend of relaxation, meaningful dialogue and reconnecting with one another and the College.

Our 2009 Distinguished Alumni Award recipient, Nancy Judd '90, presented her amazing collection in the Nichols Gallery, gave a moving speech that touched our hearts and challenged us to live greener lives. View her unique art pieces in the photo gallery.

The interactive Vision Tree Project was a new feature that allowed alumni to share their vision for the future of the College with each other and with President Trombley.

This year, there was a carbon off-set opportunity that resulted in 56 trees being planted in Costa Rica at the Firestone Center for Restoration Ecology.

Over 150 plants purchased for Reunion centerpieces were delivered to the Prison Community Garden project started by Pitzer alumni. Click here to view a video of this project.

Additionally, over 65 gifts from alumni to the Annual Fund, totaling $2,984, allowed us to raise our alumni giving percentage to 23.4%, Click here to learn more about donating to Pitzer College.

We thank everyone who committed their time to making this weekend possible including Laura and Nelson Trombley, our very own Office of College Advancement staff, Bon Appétit, the Offices of Public Relations, Student Affairs, Facilities, and Audio/Visual, our Reunion Chair, our Milestone Reunion Representatives, photographer John Lucas, our host of student workers and our alumni who continue to show their enduring support to Pitzer College. We will continue to grow this event every year to make it enjoyable for your family and friends. We can't wait to see you next year!

Turnings Points & Defining Moments

The morning and afternoon sessions paired an alumnus/a with a professor to explore the idea of Turning Points and Defining Moments. Turning Points discussed how emerging trends are changing the courses of history. Defining Moments explored actionable moments of insight and inspiration. Engaging Socratic dialogues between the attendees and speakers followed. Videos of the sessions have been uploaded for you to enjoy again or for the first time.

Sincerely,
